The club has really missed you all, so we are excited to tell you that we can part-open for one-on-one tennis from Saturday 2 May.
One-on-one coaching & singles court-hire can proceed under strict compliance with Tennis Qld COVID-19 guidelines, with activity limited to a maximum of 2 people per court.
In these early days of re-opening, all formats are to be one-on-one. No social group-tennis, or group-coaching will be available just yet. You will also see that court 2 is closed as we must leave a 10-metre buffer between users. Court 1 & 3 are open for you.
So, an example of what is OK at one given time at the club is:
- Two people on court 3 playing singles with their own tennis balls
- Coach & 1 person on court 1 for one-on-one coaching session
- Two people siting apart under court 3 pergola, waiting for court 3 as per their booking
- Two people sitting apart at clubhouse bench seat, waiting for court 1 as per their booking.
Resuming your coaching/book a new class. Those involved in any coaching prior to shutdown will be contacted by your coach shortly to offer you a timeslot. Or you’re welcome to email or text our court manager to register interest/a timeslot/day/time that suit you – please give a few options. All payments are to be made directly to court manager (Andrew Veale, ANZ Bank BSB 013 328 Account: 951624775) or your coach’s bank account as no cash payments are accepted
We’re working on a new website right now (thank you to the Design Dude) but you can still book your court (1 or 3) online from Thursday midday at http://peregiantennisclub.com.au/court-hire/ or email andrewtveale@gmail.com
Our club is well positioned to provide you with a safe playing venue & we have clear new distancing & sterilising procedures in place. But we urge everyone to follow spatial distancing guidelines & common-sense hygiene practises outlined on our courtside signage. Most notably, wash hands before/after play/after using bathrooms, ensure you/your children have your own drink bottles, do not share towels or tennis racquets & avoid physical contact. Vitally, if you’re ill or have been in contact with someone who is, please don’t attend. Our toilets must remain locked & are for emergency use only. Please refer to the latest COVID-19 Community Tennis Guidelines displayed at the club & at this link for more info.
You, our members, are the lifeblood of our club. We have the largest membership in our 40-year history & we intend to emerge as an even stronger club post-shutdown. Thank you for your continued support.
We look forward seeing you soon.
Andrew – Court Manager & Kim – Club President (on behalf of committee)
